Is there anything better than a new season of books to look forward to? As fall rolls around and book clubs start getting back into the swing of things, we’re already thinking about what we want to read next – and, more importantly, which books we should probably get on hold before everyone else does.
So we did a little digging into what’s coming up, and there are some big names with highly anticipated books on the way. From Liane Moriarty’s return to the world of Big Little Lies to Elin Hilderbrand’s latest, along with Canadian authors, buzzy new series and, yes, the next A Court of Thorns and Roses books, the internet is already in a frenzy of anticipation.
Here are the books we’ll be watching for, talking about and, hopefully, actually finding time to read!

Aug. 25, 2026
The women of Big Little Lies are back, and a decade has passed since we last saw them. Their kids are now teenagers, bringing a whole new set of problems – from drugs and sex to complicated relationships – while the women themselves are dealing with their own lives. Then a threatening package arrives at the high school, and a stranger starts asking questions that could force some long-hidden truths into the open.

Hilderbrand and her daughter return to the world of The Academy for another dose of wealthy boarding-school drama.
Hollow Bones — Jodi Picoult
Sept. 15, 2026
Molly Fitzgerald has spent her life preparing for disaster – understandable, considering she lost her mother on September 11 when she was just a baby. Now, as the head of emergency preparedness in Rhode Island, she thinks she knows how to plan for the worst. Then her own life takes an unexpected turn, forcing her to question the stories she’s built her life around.
Exit Party — Emily St. John Mandel
Sept. 15, 2026
Emily St. John Mandel, the Canadian author behind Station Eleven and Sea of Tranquility, is back with a strange, sprawling story that starts at a party in a fractured 2031 Los Angeles. Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel — Lucy Foley
Sept. 22, 2026
Miss Marple is back! In this new mystery, the famously unassuming detective is vacationing at a glamorous Swiss Alps hotel when a murder – and then a snowstorm – traps everyone inside.
Another Name for Red — Amber Blaeser-Wardzala
Oct. 13, 2026
When an Anishinaabe woman disappears, her younger sister decides to investigate for herself after the authorities fail to provide answers. What follows is part mystery, part family story and a much bigger reckoning with the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women.
Miss Wolcott’s Ghost — Louise Penny
Oct. 20, 2026
Armand Gamache is woken in the middle of the night by a terrified caller who tells him there’s a body in a place called Lost Nation – except no one seems to know where Lost Nation is. A Court of Splintered Harmony & A Court of Forgotten Melody — Sarah J. Maas
Oct. 27, 2026 & Jan. 12, 2027
