Oprah's 100 Favourite Things

You know the holidays are near when the air gets crisp, the snow starts to fall, and Oprah releases her 100 Favourite Things list. For nearly three decades, her picks have shaped gift guides, inspired wish lists, and propelled emerging brands into the spotlight.

What started as a seasonal segment on The Oprah Winfrey Show has become one of the most influential endorsements in retail – and this year, two women-owned Canadian brands have joined that exclusive circle.

Gloves to keep you warm & stylish

The ribbed wrist-warmer glove by Caracol has made its way onto the media mogul’s list, standing out for its versatility and stackable warmth. The faux-suede gloves, which come in several colours, can be worn alone or with their accompanying wrist warmers.

“Some days call for polish, others for warmth: Wear the slim glove on its own, stack on the fingerless knit when it’s frosty, or grab the knit pair alone when you need nimble fingers,” said Oprah’s gift guide.

Originally founded in 1997 by sisters Ève and Patricia Chagnon, the Quebec-based company was acquired in 2022 by Geneviève Grégoire and Catherine Laroche, who have continued the brand’s strong legacy of female leadership.

Sold in over 2,000 stores across Canada and the U.S., and releasing over 1,200 new designs per year, the brand has become synonymous with its affordable, everyday accessories, including jewelry, handbags, scarves, sunglasses and more.

Along with being featured on Oprah’s 100 Favourite Things list, the brand will also appear on Good Morning America on November 15, further spotlighting the Canadian brand.

The packing solution for eyeglass wearers

And because Oprah always has an eye for clever, everyday essentials, she also spotlighted a genius little accessory: MYTAGALONGS dual glasses case.

The soft pouch, available in a wide range of fun designs, features two distinct pockets, perfect for the woman on the go.

“The friend who toggles constantly between eyeglasses and sunglasses will be glad for this soft-sided, two-compartment case in a variety of colours, including a blush pink that won’t get lost in even the biggest bag,” said Oprah’s list.

Founded by Nicole Authier in 2006, MYTAGALONG set out to solve the “plastic bag problem,” creating a new solution for handbags and travel organization. Since its launch, the brand has expanded into tote bags, packing solutions and beauty organizers.

From timeless accessories to smart, practical finds, Oprah’s Favourite Things continues to capture the spirit of thoughtful giving – and for these two Canadian brands, it’s a moment to celebrate. Will you be adding them to your list? Let us know!
