Picture this: candlelight flickering, a glass of something bubbly in hand, and a meal so good it could make you fall in love.
Sounds pretty perfect, doesn’t it?
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the fight is on for the perfect romantic dinner reservation to toast the occasion.
But romance isn’t just about who’s sitting across the table, it’s about the whole experience. I’m sure we all remember that Sex and The City scene with the dangling balloon strings…

If you’re looking for a swoon-worthy spot to celebrate love, friendship, or simply a well-deserved indulgence this Valentine’s Day, OpenTable has got you covered.
The online restaurant reservation service regularly ranks eateries across Canada, and this year, they’ve compiled the country’s 100 most romantic restaurants (based on user reviews!)
Ontario came out on top with 58 of the 100 locations, with British Columbia claiming 16, Alberta 14, Quebec 10, and New Brunswick and Nova Scotia each claiming one.
While the list is in no particular ranking order, it runs the gamut of experiences – from the rustic charm of Calgary’s Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant to the modern art-deco experience at Daphne in Toronto.
There may just be something for everyone!
Here are some romantic restaurants on our wish list:
- Brew and Bloom-Downtown – Edmonton
- Miku Restaurant – Vancouver
- The Five Fishermen – Halifax
- Italian by Night – Saint John
- Riviera – Ottawa
- Damas – Montreal
Whether you’re planning an unforgettable date night, a Galentine’s celebration, or a solo treat-yourself moment, these dining spots are clearly cupid-approved!
